PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATIS BERDASARKAN PROSEDUR NEWMAN DITINJAU DARI GAYA BELAJAR PESERTA DIDIK

Abstrak

The aims of the research to determine how the problem solving in mathematical based on Newman's procedure in terms of learning style of students in class VIII A SMPN 3 Kotabaru. The method used is a descriptive qualitative research. The research subjects consisted of 6 people, who were is three learning style categories, namely 2 subjects in the visual learning style category, 2 subjects in the auditorial learning style category, and 2 subjects in the kinesthetic learning style category. The results showed that students with visual and kinesthetic learning styles were better at problem solving based on the Newman procedure than to auditorial learning style subjects. 1) Visual learning style subjects solve problems precisely and correctly without making mistakes because they re-examine the answers obtained. 2) auditorial learning styles subjects made several mistakes when calculating the problem solving process because they did not re-check the answers obtained. 3) Kinesthetic learning style subjects solved the problem correctly and correctly without making mistakes but used another paper.
